Which top interior trends are still going to be big in 2022?

Having a stylish home has many benefits; as well as impressing visitors with your impeccable taste, creating a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing home can improve your mood and wellbeing. If you like to stay up to date with the latest interior trends to replicate looks in your home, you have come to the right place.

In 2021 there has been an increase in people getting creative with their interior design due to spending more time at home. There have been some stunning interior trends and it looks like their popularity is not waning as we head into 2022.

We’ve been reviewing the top interior design blogs to find out which trends are here to stay in 2022. Here are some of the top trends that the interior experts anticipate remaining popular for the foreseeable future:

Checks and stripes

In years gone by, pairing checks and stripes was a major faux pas but this combination has become a hot coupling in 2021. We have also seen lots of interest in using lots of stripes on furniture and bedding, using different colours and textures as shared on the livingetc.com blog.

All about comfort

Sometimes when you are choosing furniture, you must sacrifice an element of comfort to add a beautiful piece of furniture to your living room. However, in 2021 we have seen an increase in prioritising comfort over all other factors involved in the decision. Creating a soft haven using big cushions and choosing settees that you can sink into are big trends right now.

Swivel recliner chairs such as the Cairo Swivel Recliner Chair, paired with a soft padded footstool has become a best-selling piece of furniture, as people seek the next level of comfort to relax at home.

Bold splashes of bright colours

Another trend that gathered pace in 2021 is using splashes of bright primary colours, which was highlighted by homesandgardens.com. Choosing colourful lampstands and items to decorate shelves can help to bring a bold splash of colour that does not take over the room. However, many people are going even bolder, by selecting brightly coloured pieces of furniture, such as this cherry coloured Biarritz Plush Faux Leather Swivel Recliner.

Statement vases

You do not have to spend a fortune on overhauling your interior, as there are lots of affordable ways to up the style stakes. One way people are doing this is by displaying statement vases with unusual shapes and patterns to give the room a quick and cheerful injection of style. We particularly love this one from Oliver Bonus.

Eco-friendly

Being eco-friendly has become a bigger priority for many consumers and purchasing behaviours are reflecting more concern about the environment. For example, there has been an increase in people buying furniture that is made from sustainable materials to help avoid unrequired items going into landfill. Morris Living are proud to have been awarded the “Zero Waste to Landfill” award by ACM in 2020 and this is a commitment we are striving to continue for 2022 and beyond.

These are just a few of the top interior trends that are likely to stay popular throughout 2022, so why not give your home a bit of a revamp in time for the New Year? Let us know if you have any top tips in the comments.
